Canadian-Croatian defensive midfielder, Niko Sigur, aged 21, is currently in the spotlight as a potential transfer from Hajduk Split to Atalanta BC.
Sigur, who is currently playing in the SuperSport HNL in Croatia, has a market value of €4.00m, which equates to approximately 30 million DKK.
Atalanta BC, currently holding 3rd place in Italy’s Serie A with 74 points, is said to be keen on the young midfielder. The Italian club’s position qualifies them for the Champions League, indicating a strategic move to strengthen their squad ahead of the challenging competition.
The transfer window is currently open, having commenced on July 1, and will close at the end of August. As today’s date is August 1, 2025, there is ample time for negotiations and finalisation of the transfer.
Sigur’s current contract with Hajduk Split is set to expire on May 31, 2028, meaning a transfer would require a significant buyout. However, the potential benefits of acquiring a player of Sigur’s calibre could outweigh the financial implications for Atalanta BC.
