Portuguese defensive midfielder João Palhinha, currently contracted with Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich, is reportedly on the radar of Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
Palhinha, 30, has a market value of €30.00m, which equates to approximately 223.5 million DKK, taking into account a minor variance.
Despite not having scored or provided any assists in his 17 appearances this season, Palhinha’s defensive prowess and his 190cm, 84kg frame have made him a formidable presence in the heart of Bayern’s midfield. His contributions have played a part in Bayern’s impressive run, placing them at the top of the Bundesliga table with a hefty 82 points.
In contrast, Tottenham Hotspur are currently languishing in 17th place in the Premier League, with a mere 38 points. The addition of a player of Palhinha’s calibre could potentially provide the defensive stability that Spurs are seemingly lacking.
With the transfer window currently open until August 31, it remains to be seen whether Spurs will secure Palhinha’s services. However, considering their current league position, bolstering their squad with a player of his experience and quality would undoubtedly be a significant boost.
