Brazilian defensive midfielder Arthur Melo, currently with Juventus in Italy’s Serie A, could be on the move back to his homeland.
The 29-year-old is reportedly in talks with Grêmio, a top-flight Brazilian club.
Despite Juventus’ solid performance this season, currently sitting in 4th place with 70 points, Melo has yet to make his mark on the pitch, with no appearances, goals, or assists to his name in the current campaign. Standing at 171 cm and weighing 73 kg, Melo’s physical presence in the midfield has been missed.
Melo’s market value is currently estimated at €5.00m, which converts to approximately 37 million Danish krone, accounting for a slight variance. This makes him an affordable option for Grêmio as they look to bolster their squad.
The timing of the potential transfer aligns with the transfer window schedule. Today’s date is August 27, 2025, and the current window closes on August 31, leaving just a few days for the deal to be finalised.
If the move goes through, it will be a homecoming of sorts for Melo, who will be returning to the league where he began his professional career. The potential transfer could provide a much-needed boost for both Melo and Grêmio.
