Swiss international and Manchester City centre-back, Manuel Akanji, is reportedly on the radar of Serie A side, AC Milan.
Akanji, 30, has been a solid presence in the City defence, contributing to their current standing as third in the Premier League with 71 points.
AC Milan, currently eighth in Serie A with 63 points, could significantly benefit from Akanji’s defensive prowess. The 186 cm, 91 kg defender, valued at around €28.00m (approximately 208.4 million DKK), could provide a much-needed bolster to the Italian side’s backline.
The current transfer window, which closes on August 31, leaves both clubs with a narrow timeframe to negotiate and finalise a potential deal. However, with Akanji’s contract with Manchester City set to expire in 2027, any transfer would likely command a substantial fee.
It remains to be seen whether AC Milan will make a formal offer for Akanji, and if so, whether Manchester City will be willing to part with the Swiss international. As always, the final decision will likely hinge on the player’s personal preference and the terms of the proposed contract.
