Speculation is rife in the football world as Swiss-Nigerian centre-back, Manuel Akanji, is rumoured to be considering a transfer from Manchester City to Crystal Palace.
Currently, Manchester City is sitting comfortably in the third position in the Premier League, with 71 points, while Crystal Palace is holding the 12th spot with 53 points.
At 30 years old, Akanji has proven his worth in the 26 matches he has played this season. While he hasn’t scored any goals or provided any assists, his towering presence, standing at 186 cm and weighing 91 kg, has been vital in the defensive line for his current club, Manchester City.
The transfer could be a significant move for Crystal Palace, considering Akanji’s market value stands at approximately €28.00m, which is roughly 208 million Danish Kroner, a substantial investment for any club.
With the transfer window closing on August 31, there is little time left for the deal to be finalised. However, if the move goes through, it could potentially strengthen Crystal Palace’s defensive line and possibly boost their standing in the Premier League.
