Stefan Ortega, the 32-year-old German goalkeeper, currently playing for Manchester City in the Premier League, is reportedly on the radar of Fenerbahce.
Ortega, who has been instrumental in Manchester City’s current standing in third place in the Premier League with 71 points, has appeared in 13 matches this season.
Despite not having scored any goals or provided assists – which is typical for a goalkeeper – Ortega’s solid performance between the posts has been a significant factor in Manchester City’s successful campaign. Standing at 185 cm and weighing 88 kg, his commanding presence in goal has been a deterrent for many attackers.
With the transfer window currently open until August 31, there is a possibility of a move to Fenerbahce in the Turkish Süper Lig. However, Ortega’s contract with Manchester City is active until June 30, 2026, which could be a potential stumbling block in the transfer proceedings.
Ortega’s market value stands at €8.00m, which converts to approximately 59.7 million Danish Krone, allowing for a few million in variance. It remains to be seen if Fenerbahce is willing to meet this valuation to secure the services of the German shot-stopper. As always, the final decision will rest with the clubs and the player.
